Join us for an engaging educational experience on the majestic raptors of the Rockies and witness their breathtaking beauty and power.

Rocky Mountain National Park and the Front Range area are home to an exciting range of raptors! Experienced wildlife guide Perry Conway will introduce you to these remarkable birds and help you learn to spot them in the wild. On Friday evening, Perry will give an engaging and informative lecture, illustrated by his own vibrant and dramatic photographs of raptors in their native habitats. The next morning, we'll visit several nesting and hunting sites to watch and photograph these powerful birds in action, traveling together in Conservancy vehicles. Whether you're a raptor enthusiast or just curious about these majestic creatures, we hope you'll join us!

Location: Lyons, CO, (meeting location in Lyons to be announced)

When: Friday evening lecture, 6:30 - 9:30pm, Saturday morning field session, 7:00 - 11:00am

Who: Participants ages 16 and up. Expect short-distance walks throughout the day, primarily on level terrain.

What to bring: 10 Essentials for Field Courses plus a camera and binoculars or spotting scope

About your instructor: Perry Conway has been a full-time professional naturalist, photographer, and wildlife guide for many years. He has led numerous African safaris and has worked with numerous species of raptors, from kestrels to eagles, and presented conservation programs at schools and other venues. His images and articles have been published in every major North American natural history publication.
